About Foundation Nashville
A plain-spoken foundation resource written for Nashville houses and Nashville ground.
What this site is
Foundation Nashville is an independent resource for homeowners in Nashville and Davidson County who have spotted cracks, water or sloping floors. It explains what those signs usually mean, what the common repairs involve, and what national cost guides say they cost. It is not a contractor. When you'd like someone to look, your request goes to one independent foundation specialist who serves Nashville, and the specialist calls you.
Where the facts come from
Local figures on this site come from public sources: the U.S. Census American Community Survey for housing age, NOAA climate normals for rainfall, the National Weather Service and FEMA for the May 2010 flood, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service for geology, and the Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors for licensing rules. Prices come from Fixr and This Old House and are labeled as national ranges in the 2026 cost guide.
